Provide a varied diet of small insects including crickets, roaches, and fruit flies. Dust food with calcium and vitamin supplements 2–3 times weekly. Flying geckos also enjoy soft fruits like mango and papaya as occasional treats. Lighting is crucial—use a low-wattage UVB light on a 12-hour day/night cycle to support bone health and natural behavior. Avoid excessive handling, as these geckos are stress-prone and can drop their tails when frightened. Water should be available through misting; many flying geckos prefer to drink water droplets from leaves rather than standing water. Provide shallow water dishes as backup. With proper care, flying geckos can live 8–10 years. Regular veterinary checkups with a reptile specialist are recommended to monitor health and catch any issues early.
