Striped Devil Scorpions are fascinating arachnids native to North Africa and the Middle East. These medium-sized scorpions display distinctive dark stripes across their tan or yellowish exoskeleton, making them visually striking additions to any collection. Housing & Environment Provide a 20-gallon breeder tank or larger with a secure, locking lid. Maintain temperatures between 75–85°F with a basking spot reaching 90°F. Use a substrate mix of coconut husk and sand (3:1 ratio) at least 4 inches deep to allow burrowing. Humidity should remain low at 30–40%. Provide hiding spots using cork bark, PVC pipes, or commercial hides. Feeding & Diet Feed juveniles twice weekly and adults once weekly with appropriately sized prey—crickets, roaches, or small insects. Remove uneaten prey within 24 hours. Provide fresh water via a shallow dish or misting; do not oversaturate the enclosure. Handling & Temperament Striped Devil Scorpions are defensive and possess a potent sting. Handle only when necessary and with caution. Wear protective gloves and keep hands clear of the tail. These scorpions are best observed rather than frequently handled.
